Project Vision: To create a focal point for a wide range of vital community support services to promote Islam, learning, capacity building, cultural awareness, economic regeneration, and community cohesion.

Project Ddescription: The new £ 4.5 Million Abu Bakr Mosque and Cultural Centre will be a 4 storeys building with a total built area of 3600 m2 plus an underground car park, and associated landscaping.

The Main Features are: Prayer Halls (for Gents & Ladies ),  Seminar & Conference Hall, Reference Library, Reception and Admin Offices, Community Business Centre, Crèche, Cafeteria/ Restaurant, Education and Training Rooms, Computer Suite, Youth Club, Open Learning Centre, and Ablution Facilities

Main Areas of Services will include: Spiritual Welfare, Social Welfare, Islamic Education, Capacity Building & Training, Cultural Welfare, Open Learning, Employment & Business support, Youth Welfare, Networking & Public Relations, Students Service.

Progress 2012: The new Abu Bakr Mosque & Cultural Centre design has been completed by Areeba Associates, a Liverpool based Design Company.  Purchase of the land adjacent to the existing Mosque has been completed, and the planning permission has been granted in April 2012 by Middlesbrough Council.

Fundraising for the capital is underway and we hope to start construction within two years, providing enough money has been raised. The estimated cost is £4.5 millions

We are currently marketing the project to Officials from Middle Eastern countries to boost the project and raise enough money to enable the construction to start as soon as possible. 

The Prophet PBUH said: "He whoever builds a mosque for the pleasure of Allah,
Allah builds a house for him in Paradise"
