Abu Bakr Mosque and Community Centre is a well known and established registered charity organisation, originally set up in 1989 and dedicated to serving Muslims from all communities, with an ethos on implementing the true teaching of the noble religion of Islam according to the noble Qur’an and the sunnah of the prophet PBUH amongst the Muslim and Other communities.
The Centre enjoys support from the Local Authority, statutory and voluntary organisations in Middlesbrough and the whole north East region. The Centre is providing a range of services to include Islamic education, supplementary school, employment and business support, spiritual welfare, social activities, and other services linked to community development and empowerment.

Middlesbrough is home to a significant number of migrants and refugees from various nationalities and origins that includes Africa, Asia, Middle East, and the Far East. A large number of these communities are from the Muslim Faith.
The rich mix of people and diversity from various backgrounds is a great cultural value for Middlesbrough. The Abu Bakr Islamic Cultural Centre is committed to play a full role in the both the Cultural as well as the economic regeneration process, by providing a focal point for the muslim community to develop and feel a sense of belonging.
